Erin Whelan Pennock Esq.
Erin Pennock is an experienced attorney and mediator who has been practicing since 2007. Erin has a wide range of experience in matters relating to family law and alternative dispute resolution and has been honored by Super Lawyers for the last eight years as a Rising Star and listed in the Massachusetts “Top Women in the Law”. Erin is a dedicated to helping guide couples and individuals navigate the divorce process so that they can minimize conflict and avoid unnecessary expense. She has developed a practice that prioritizes the preservation of the family relationship and is able to provide couples and individuals with the tools and resources that can help them through the divorce process and afterwards.
Prior to opening the Law Office of Erin Whelan Pennock in 2018, Erin was a partner with the law firm, Black, Vitelli & Pennock based in Woburn, Massachusetts. Before dedicating her practice to out-of-court dispute resolution, Erin litigated many high-conflict divorce cases and repeatedly saw the negative impact that protracted conflict and litigation had on families. It is her belief that the initial stages of the divorce process are a crucial time to ensure that families have the correct tools and guidance to avoid finding themselves in a drawn out and expensive process which the litigation path typically creates.
Erin is an active member in the Massachusetts mediation community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation. Erin is also editor of the Massachusetts Family Mediation Journal (FMJ).
Erin lives in Belmont with her husband, two daughters and dog, Penny. In her free time, she can usually be found running early in the morning, reading or driving kids to activities. She is also trained in meditation having completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) through the Mindful Leader Program.
