WHERE DO I START? Designing Your Divorce
Erin’s experience in divorce and family law has made one thing very clear – parties who are informed and educated about their options early in the process are always better off because they are able to have an active role in their divorce. Education and participation in your divorce path is empowering which is why Erin formulated a service called “The Divorce Design” for those in the initial stages of a divorce in need of guidance, education and planning. While a good lawyer is always an important part of the process, parties going through a divorce often need a variety of resources at their disposal – relationship or therapeutic advice, financial advice, child development advice, real estate advice; the list goes on depending on your specific circumstances. Erin helps individuals and/or couples create a plan tailored to their specific situation(s). Using the knowledge, contacts and resources Erin has acquired during her years in this business, Erin will listen to your needs and concerns and work with you to design a path for your divorce. With so many unknowns and uncertainties that can come with a divorce, taking this look at the big picture and strategizing the best path forward will save you stress and money in the end.
What exactly is a Divorce Design and why would it be helpful for me and my family? The overall goal when you are developing a Divorce Design with Erin is to (1) become educated in the divorce process and your choices; and (2) work to design a personalized path with Erin which will include estimated timeline, professionals to reach out to and tips for co-parenting (if applicable) and/or relationship maintenance with your spouse. This can be done with a couple seeking guidance or Erin can provide individual support as well.
I have already started the divorce process with an attorney and/or a mediator but still would like to create a Divorce Design – is that possible? Of course. While starting the process is always a little easier if we are at the very initial stages, it is never to late to redirect your path and/or get some clarification on how you want to proceed moving forward. The more education and planning you can do, the more in control of your process you will be!
